Easy like Sunday Morning - Cheap, Fun, and Easy



Looking for something to do with the kiddos.  I'm all about the cheap and quick craft projects.  It keeps them entertained for a little bit and there's nothing worse than spending a fortune on a craft that they spend 5 minutes doing.

This one is cheap, fun, and easy.

Here's all you need colored candies (like M&Ms), a plate, hot water, and a syringe (optional).  Have the kids arrange the M&Ms on the plate.  It's fun to also practice creating patterns.  I got the red and green ones for Christmas, but all colors work.  Heat a cup of water in the microwave until hot (about 2 minutes depending on your microwave).  Carefully pour the hot water over the M&Ms (depending on your child's age, this may best be done by an adult). 

To make sure the M&Ms don't move when the water is added, I like to use a syringe (the type you use when the kiddos are sick).  It doesn't require much water, just enough to fill the base of the plate.  And wait and watch for the super fun patterns to emerge.  The kiddos always have a blast with this one, and eating a few M&Ms in the process probably doesn't hurt with the enjoyment factor.

3 Ingredient Glitter Slime

But the winner, by far, is the glitter slime. Something about those magical sparkles of glitter and my kiddos go crazy. Here is an easy, three ingredient recipe to quickly and magically concoct glitter slime on your kitchen table. Ingredients: Glitter (any color) 5 oz of Elmer's clear glue 1/2 cup of Elmer's magical liquid Instructions: Pour bottle of Elmer's clear glue into a plastic cup. Slowly mix in Elmer's magical liquid. Add glitter (about 1-2 tablespoons) depending on the desired amount of glitter. Stir until combined. Move mixture to table and knead by hand until well combined. If sticky, coat hands with cooking spray. Play and have fun. Store in airtight container.
